Volunteer Opportunities
One Event and You're Done!
Assessments: Help us get the season kicked-off right by assisting in various roles for VLL Assessment Day including check-in players and helping volunteers get signed-up. Coaches and former coaches will be prioritized for this volunteer opportunity. This is a one-day volunteer opportunity and it will satisfy your annual volunteer commitment.
Complex Cleanup: Help keep our fields in great shape with field care, prep, and cleanup during these available workdays, typically scheduled in the Spring and Fall each year. New for 2026, we will offer additional clean-up days, ideally scheduled post VLL-hosted tournaments. No experience required. Volunteers for complex cleanup can be any age, but must be accompanied by an adult at all times. When you volunteer for a Complex Cleanup Day, you’re expected to attend the entire event. Each cleanup day is a single-day opportunity that fully satisfies the annual volunteer requirement, regardless of its duration.
Opportunities Throughout the Season:
Concessions: Concession sales are our largest fundraising effort and where our families have the biggest impact to support VLL. Concession shifts are available from May to mid-July in two hour blocks on weekdays from 4:30 - 8:30pm, select Saturdays from 7:30am - 7:30pm and select Sundays from 7:30am - 4:30pm. Volunteers for concession shifts must be at least 18 years old (no exceptions).
A Party While Volunteering? Say Less:
Family Fun Night: This Monday evening mid-season event is a fun, family-friendly night at the VLL complex, and volunteers help make it all possible. Families come out to enjoy activities like an inflatable obstacle course, face painting, skills competitions, and special concession stand deals. Volunteering is a great way to support the league while creating a welcoming, enjoyable experience for players and families.
Golf Outing: Additional details coming soon!
Stay Closer to the Team:
Head Coach or Assistant Coach: The Head Coach and Assistant Coach(es) play a key role in creating a positive, safe, and fun experience for VLL members. Coaches are responsible for teaching fundamental baseball skills, fostering teamwork and sportsmanship, and helping players develop confidence both on and off the field. Coaches serve as role models, guiding players through practices, games, and team activities throughout the season. Serving in this role fulfills the annual volunteer requirement.
Team Parent: Help your player's team run smoothly by coordinating a team contact list, relay important updates from the league, be available to field questions from parents, support updates within GameChanger (or other applications) and coordinate team activities. Registration for the Team Parent role opens once teams are formed. Each team will have one Team Parent, selected by the Head Coach, and reported to the VLL Commissioner. Serving in this role fulfills the annual volunteer requirement.
Make an Impact on the Future of VLL:
Join the VLL Board: Joining the board of Verona Little League is a meaningful way to make a lasting impact on the organization and its future. Board members help guide decisions, support league operations, and shape policies that ensure a positive experience for players, families, and the community. By serving on the board, you play a direct role in sustaining and strengthening Verona Little League for years to come. Serving on the board fulfills the annual volunteer requirement.
